2A implementation of restrictive practices
we are committed to ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of all participants, particularly in cases where restrictive practices may be necessary. Restrictive practices are interventions used only as a last resort and under strict guidelines, where they are required to prevent harm to the individual or others. These practices are carefully implemented in compliance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and in consultation with relevant professionals, to ensure that they are both appropriate and proportionate to the participant’s needs.
Our approach is focused on minimising the use of restrictive practices, exploring positive behavior support strategies, and working with participants, families, and allied health professionals to develop individualized behavior support plans. These plans are designed to enhance the participant’s quality of life and reduce the need for restrictive practices over time. If restrictive practices are used, they are closely monitored, regularly reviewed, and always implemented with the utmost care and respect for the participant’s rights and preferences. We are committed to providing the highest standards of care and support to ensure that restrictive practices are applied only when absolutely necessary, in a way that maximizes the participant’s safety and well-being while minimising any negative impact.
